About Toby

Toby Long, AIA is a licensed architect in California. Toby had dedicated the past 10 years of practice to the use of alternative and prefabricated construction techniques for projects throughout CA and the US. He received both fine arts and architecture degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design, and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects. In 2003, he was instrumental in founding CleverHomes, a system for the design and construction of modern, green, prefabricated homes and light commercial structures. His practice focuses on the use of off-site processes to leverage better value, faster construction, and more environmental projects for his clientèle. Using prefabricated construction methods, Toby has been a leader and innovator in California, promoting green construction and forward-looking projects throughout the Bay Area. His projects have won numerous awards, and he has introduced alternative construction systems to many local jurisdictions.
